There is eight different fair dealing purposes that does not infringe copyright, so you can use something copyrighted without getting in trouble for it depending on how you are using it and how much of it you use. Copy right is very important to protect someones work, yet there has to be ways that people can use certain works that are copy right without getting in trouble. I think that the way it is set up now is perfect, because people can use copy right novels, art work etc for educational purposes, if they are working on a book report they can include some of the actual novel to quote it etc. Copy right is important, but if there wasn't ways that people could still use copy righted works a lot of great things wouldn't be known today.
